October 2011: Playoffs? Did somebody say playoffs?

October brought about many fall adventures. What is better than October baseball? According to Rusty, not much! Since the Brewers were in the NLDS against the Diamonbacks and they were coming back to Milwaukee for game 5, Rusty and Adam decided we should go. Owen attended is first playoff game the same day I did. Lucky kid!

Owen is getting ready for the game!

A photo only a dad would stage.

Owen spent most of the game in the carrier. He slept on and off.

Griff was in town. It meant so much for Rusty to be at a playoff game with his father and his son.

The Brewers won and the place exploded with fireworks and confetti. Some landed on his head and he took it all in stride, just as Owen usually does. I am pretty sure I am still finding random pieces of confetti in my diaper bag. Rusty cheering scared Owen at the beginning of the game. Also, if Owen has permanent hearing damage it is from this game. It was REALLY loud!

September 2011: 3 months old to 4 months old (and everything in between)

Owen turned 3 months old at the end of August, but we had pictures taken in September. As summer started to come to an end, we started to get into a real groove with Owen. Owen started to roll and he loved to sit!

A few highlights from the 3 month photo shoot!

My little family

4 Generations

Being a baby model is exhausting!

Owen also went to work with Rusty for a few hours one day. When I went to pick Owen up, this is how I found them. Just working on wetlands!

Owen LOVES his evening bath!

For Father's Day Owen bought Rusty Brewer's tickets. The game was in September.

Adam and Terese joined us.

Father and son tailgating.

Father and son checking out the field.

I have so many fantastic memories at games with my dad, mom and brother. I was so happy to begin to share that with my son.

We decided it was time for Owen to try solids. He was so interested in food. He watched me eat every meal like he was watching a ping pong game. His first food was a mashed avocado.

Only a little ended up on his face. After he got used to the texture.

By the end of September, my little baby turned 4 months old. At his 4 month appointment he was 17 pounds.

August 2011: Meeting more family

We traveled to Utah, so Owen could meet the Griffin side of the family. Owen is a champ in airports and on airplanes. I really hope this continues, since we are heading to Utah for Thanksgiving. I feel like August was the month that my sleepy little baby turned into a baby that was so interested in the world around him. It was the most difficult month for me as a mother. I felt like everything I was doing was not working, but it was just an adjustment month. I did not take a lot of pictures because I truly felt overwhelmed.
Owen and Grandma Jeri.

Owen's 4 generation picture with Rusty, Grandpa Griff, and Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Griffin.

We had a campfire in 'the' canyon.

Owen just chillin'.

Meeting Hank and Max. I swear Owen is in there somewhere! His cousins LOVE him so much.

Owen decided he should add the "el" in Chicago to his travel bucket list.

3 little monkeys!

Testing out the Bumbo. He loved sitting. Too bad his chunky little thighs didn't fit in the slots for too long!

July 2011: Getting settled

July turned out to be a calmer month for us. We moved into our apartment. We spent some time with our Midwest family. Owen tested out a new last name.

Happy 4th of July!

Owen tests out the water. He would rather eat than swim!

We finally got some rest.

Owen Howard GRIFFITH? Hmmm.

Owen and Uncle Adam

Somewhere along the way Owen turned 2 months old! At his 2 month appointment he weighed 13 pounds 13 ounces. He got shots. I cried.

June 2011: Whose life is this?

June was a crazy month. It is pretty much a blur. My mom was there, Jeri came to meet Owen, Rusty had a birthday, movers showed up, we hopped a plane to move to Madison (even though we didn't have a place to live), we stayed in Chicago for a few days, Rusty celebrated his first father's day, we 'lived' in a hotel, Griff came to visit, Rusty lived with a co-worker. No big deal!

Writing makes Owen tired!

Owen went to the park.
They don't just look alike!
Miner had a long layover in Portland and stopped over for a quick visit.

Our friend, Andrea, took newborn photos. Owen was awake the entire photo shoot!

Jeri comes to Portland.

Owen's first flight at almost 3 weeks old. He was perfect, which is good. We are a traveling family!

Griff comes to Madison.

Here are a few pictures from the hospital.

Owen and his Gramie.

Chillin' in his basinette.

Always checking things out. He doesn't want to miss a thing.

Lookout world, here I come!
